The Cult of CAI 777
literature, ancient rites and modern electronics
In the music of CAI 777 there are references to H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos and the "necronomicon" book. The mood of a frightening, yet uncertain threat coming from ancient forgotten gods and the crawling chaos are quite present in some songs. Especially in the " I Dreamed Of Dying " album there are songs like AZAG TOTH or RITUAL ( the seven enemies ) and also AXECHEH which carry the ideas of H.P. Lovecraft into a dark musical experience. CAI777 interprets our fear from ancient myths as aspects of our xenophobia as we never will be able to understand the motifs of alien creatures and therefore cannot estimate the real threat coming from them. ... Azathoth ( AZAG TOTH ), whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin, monotonous whine of accursed flutes; to which detestable pounding and piping dance slowly, awkwardly, and absurdly the gigantic ultimate gods, the blind, voiceless, tenebrous, mindless Other Gods whose soul and messenger is the crawling chaos...
This could be a good description of some of CAI 777's more atmospheric songs.
As some magazine wrote : Musik in Zeitlupe ( music in extreme slow motion )

That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die

Weit Hinaus Tief Hinunter Also important influence for CAI 777 are the morbid, dark poems of Charles Baudelaire , especially the " fleurs du mal " were used as inspiration.Songs like Mad Lover or I Dreamed Of Dying use fragments of Baudelaire's poems as text, others are influenced by the morbide and blasphemic atmosphere Baudelaire creates.

I Dreamed Of Dying... But Even Death Can Tell A Lie...

Sec Sigh - recorded live at the Werk III Another facette of CAI 777 are the evolution of the industrial culture to a cybercivilisation where the society dramatically changes the moral foundations and the consequences of these changes to the human autistic behaviour.
Information and disinformation, facts and propaganda are available anywhere making it more and more complicated to differ the useful from the useless information.
So in not so far future a clash of the civilisations will arise between the adherents of the dawning old religions and the prophets of the virtual reality cult.
The decay of our civilisation has begone and we are facing the end in our dying cities. But maybe some thousand years later archaelogist of a forthcoming race will dive below the eternal ice and find some frozen architecture of our vanished human existence.
